The Green Party of Ontario have appointed Pat Rogerson as the Northern Development, Mines and Forestry critic.

Rogerson is the nominated candidate for the Sudbury riding in the upcoming Oct. 6 provincial election.

“Pat Rogerson brings a fresh perspective to our shadow cabinet,” Ontario Green Party leader Mike Schreiner said in a press release.

“I am proud to add such an intelligent and passionate individual to our team.”

As the critic for Northern Development, Mines and Forestry, Rogerson will “pay special attention to the development of key resources,” including the Ring of Fire and the Northern Ontario Growth Plan.

“The policy direction set out by the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines and Forestry directly impacts the livelihoods of almost every northern Ontarian, either directly or indirectly,” Rogerson said.

“We here in the north know that our resource economy is one of the engines driving Ontario's economic prosperity.”
