You should really do a bit of diligence before posting. The Blackbirds also come up to the surface. It has already beeen drilled. The deep holes are purposely drilled with depth in mind, in order to show expanded tonnage.

Remember, they are planning a ramp and/or a shaft within 2 km of this area to mine the nickel, which is at a similar or deeper depth, and mining is greatly simplified if you can start at the bottom and work up.

Also remember, they hope, with this drill plan, to at least double the 15 mill tons they already have at or near surface. As a mill tons a year is likely all the market could absorb, this amounts to a 30 year supply at maximum production.

Also remember too, that they are at least a year ahead of CLF in their mining plan, and hope to have a feasibility study out by first qtr 2012. They are also well positioned to move their plan through the necessary permitting stages in half the time it will take CLF.

And then remember also, that the powers that be will not support CLF unless they process their chrome within the province. But the province does not need 2 smelters, nor would CLF be willing to process Noront's ore when they have so much themselves. Simpler for Noront to just load the stuff on a ship and sell it to Baosteel.
