The bridge is not the issue but what it represents.

That is, for the sake of saving some costs ( bigger profits) for big corporations Americans lost jobs, more dollars were printed and thus debt built up. Not to mention interest paid on that debt.

The losses to the nation negated the savings to the corporations and in time probably exceed them.
