The 10:26 1.25M trade was marked as a 'cash trade'. Cash trades are included in the volume, value, and transaction totals even if they "do not affect open, high, low, last sale, and close prices".

Many traders - computers included - have volume alerts on stocks on their watch list. I have no idea if there are talks about a possible takeover (which I doubt). But this Cash Trade was really the trigger of yesterday's runup, and perhaps the only one. So my feel is that nothing crucial is happening, except that our SP has been lifted to a more realistic level. Happy with it, but still a long way to the five bucks I'm in for!
