I was thinking about Bombardier today.
In particular: trains and planes.
I thought back to Mid september when Dalton Mcguinty made a stop in Thunder Bay to visit Bombardier. This was 3 weeks before Ontario Elections. A big stink was being made that he was not attending the Northern Debate. His only stop in Thunder Bay consisted of visiting Bombardier. I remember seeing the picture of Mcguinty, smiling with Gravelle and the union head.
....then...I think back to this statement from the past...
Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty stated that “Ontario Liberals think Ontarians can – and should – lead the development of hydrogen alternatives for the world”. ....
The Ontario Liberals stated in a Press Release, “The hydrogen commuter train is exactly the type of initiative envisioned when the Ontario Liberal government created the new $650 million Next Generation Jobs Fund, McGuinty said. Ontario Liberals want to expand the Fund by a further $500 million after the October 10th election”.

.......the Minister also met with Bombardier representatives to promote deeper Canada-China cooperation in China’s growing aerospace sector. “As China seeks to increase its participation in the global commercial aerospace market, Canada’s Bombardier—with its end-to-end expertise—will be uniquely positioned to help facilitate China’s ambitious aerospace goals,” said Minister Fast. “Greater investment predictability would help foster increased Canadian investment and closer aerospace cooperation.” Canada and China are currently negotiating a FIPA designed to give investors in both countries the predictability and protection needed to ensure increased two-way investment.
“A FIPA would lead to stronger economic growth in both our countries,” said Minister Fast. “Negotiations are moving forward, and our countries are working together to reach an agreement that is acceptable and mutually beneficial to both sides.”

If this were to happen...it would be another great job creater. It would be good modern technology for the rail in the ROF. And would create more value added from the ROF.
I notice the aerospace also getting some attention lately. Also being good for Bombardier and a good use of ROF GOODS and...good for Baosteel too!
