Message: 90% Of The Debt Of Ontario Hydro Was Incurred In The Early 80s

" the over paid executives who got their positions only because of who they knew"
In other words patronage appointments who often lacked proper qualifications and thus made inefficient and costly decisions for which we now and in future have to pay for.

How often have we heard such appontees and politicians deferring decisions to commitees and study groups to make recommendations because they are incapable of. Ever notice how these commitiees charge their time and expenditures? All that implies added high cost at the public trough.

How many here agree with Ontario government going to Korea to aquire wind mills? Wind mills are a good idea BUT is there no qualified manufacturer of them in Ontario or at least in Canada i.e. keep the jobs and profits at home?

The faulty decisions we make today haunt us in the future.

Cliffs commiting to an open pit mine may well be one of those dubious decisions. It may be cheaper at first but the political and environmental costs could eventually outweigh the front end costs.
In other words politicians and public corporations are not the only ones who put forward cost efficient today's decisions but could end up paying for them in unexpected costs tomorrow.

So am in favour of Noront's appontees of experienced management, particularly their Pragmatic approach to managing the company and external relations. I only wish they would keep us the shareholders better and more timely informed instead of keeping their cards close to their chests.
