Sum, I must admit...I am smiling ..and yes, I have a lot of shares (some at $6.80 and some at .47 cents). Actually I think I have them in ALL price ranges. I just kept buying over the years when I could of a stock I believed in.
I remember watching the share price of Noront go to a day high of around $7.42.
Instead of being joyous after having bought shares in the $3 & $5 range...I felt a bit envious. I thought about the people lucky enough to have bought in the under a dollar range. I wondered what it would feel like to have 300,000 shares and watch it go to $7+ instead of watching 30,000 shares go to $7+.
Then I remember thinking..."yep...only for the lucky." Not for folks like...me.
It feels so weird thinking back on this day. What I wished for came true. I got a second chance.
I think by now we have a better idea of how big this will be one day.
On Jan. 24, this is happening in Ottawa:
"The Jan. 24 meeting will bring together Harper, Atleo, Aboriginal Affairs Minister John Duncan and aboriginal leaders to discuss ways the government can improve the social and economic lot of remote reserves."
====================================================================
It seems every day there is a new depressing story in these remote reserves.
As a recent sample:

Some articles regarding this recent plane crash have pointed out that air transportation is often times the only way to get supplies to some of the reserves and that something has to be done to help prevent crashes like this one .
Mould forcing a school closure..Not good.
Huge drug abuse..no jobs..no roads..no future..no hope..
Harper knows something has to be done.
Lots going on in Thunder Bay, I'm recently seeing Cliffs with job ads needing people based in Thunder Bay.
Then you got this meeting in Thunder Bay next week(Jan. 18), 2012. I pasted the link below.
Quebec is going to show Thunder Bay "how it's done."

(keep in mind that Sept's 2011 newsletter (page 2) discussed, "taking a lead role in transportation, energy, mining clusters ie Ring of Fire" Link below of PDF.

Look at this link.

(Pay attention to the words):
"True Grit Consulting works with remote First Nation communites in the Ring of Fire to help them understand and prepare for the complexities of the mining cycle.
The company has 40 employees, split between its Thunder Bay headquarters and a smaller satellite office in Sioux Lookout. It's forecasting growth of 20 to 25 per cent in business over the next 12 months."
Lots going on behind the scenes.
Sum, it's not just the jaw that aches from smiling but the eye balls are killing me from trying to keep up the reading. We have exciting times ahead of us.
All my best for the New Year.
And...of course let's not forget that our friends at Baosteel that bought in at .86 cents will be celebrating their New Year Jan. 23, 2012.
It's nice to see that the share price is moving up nicely to help put that added joy in their upcoming New Year celebrations.
