"it doesn't make sense to me other than NOT's "handlers" would be puppet for Clf for the purpose of dealing with the FN."
Nobody should get too concerned about this suggestion. It was something that was thrown out in a conversation yesterday, and I was merely asking if there was any other mention of it.
Seriously though, I think CLF has a tough row to hoe before they get anywhere near a production decision, and one scenario could be taking a hind seat to Noront's drive to a mine in the ROF. There are indications that this may be already happening.
They acknowledge they will be required to contribute to the construction of a road to the site. They indicate this road will also serve (several?) local communities in it's path. In the case of a north south route, there is only one community. They offer a cost figure for this road of 600m. On a north south route the two bridges would use most of this figure by themselves.
The 600m figure is higher than what was suggested by Noront, meaning they likely would be figuring in the additional distance from Webequie junction to the minesite.
We are likely close to an announcement of a road, and likely power will eventually come in via this road route, but everyone seems to be ignoring the main point of it all, which is how are they going to get the end product out to market? Even CLF seems to ignore it in this recent news release.
Best regards
