"Union sells 10 shares to Interactive for .84 several times over the last two days. Any explanations?"
An easy one, and another slant:
This is manipulation of another variety.
That is correct, 10 share trade even if repeated many times does not affect the share price, BUT!
Consider that you are like me, and a lot many ordinary Joe Investors, who pays commisions on each trade.
I have four accounts with three brokerages. On two of those accounts ( are old) the commisions are steep to the extent that I almost never trade from them ( are long holds ).
From one account that I mostly use for short term trades has a very low commision (Questrade $4.95) but it only applies to a maximum of 500 shares. So I place an order for 500 shates but get filled with only 10. The commision could cost me more than the 10 shares are worth.
Soooo, those 10 share trades are effecrively blocking me from placing an order.
Bingo, they are interferring with my ability to trade.
This tactic was happening to me on a regular basis with another stock some 2 years ago. They are a Au producer now with sp several times higher.
If you are not able to control the price, control some of the trading.
Why now, He he. Some of you here must get the idea.
OSC where are you!? Asleep on the job again? It never ends, Ed.
