Message: Opportunities and challenges for miners[there is hope for a turnaround soon]

I do not depend on Gravelle's opinion, who repeated what he has been spoon fed:

"Some of the economic factors impacting Canadian mining firms include the European debit crisis and the US unemployment rate. Both of these factors are impacting markets and companies’ ability to raise capital, which impacts gold prices,” says Gravelle."

Not just US unemployment, that is a common US misdirection of problem.
Most canadian trade is with the US and not Europe and the US is in as much of a debt crisis as some of the worst of Europe. I mean on average Europe is better off than the US. Don't take my word, I give you the following quote from Chuck Butler in his 'Daily Pfennig' for Feb.23:

<Then There Was This. from the Economist. "The European Union has lower government debt levels than America. Gross government debt in the 27 nations of the EU was 80% of the region's GDP at the end of 2010; in America gross federal debt at the end of 2010 was 94% of GDP. Furthermore, government debt is growing more slowly as a percentage of GDP in the EU than in America, because pretty much every nation in the EU is implementing austerity measures. The general government deficit in the EU-27 in 2010 was 6.6% of GDP. In America the federal deficit in 2010 was 9% of GDP."

Chuck again. I tell you this not as a "hey they're better than us" type of thing. This article caught my eye, because, we're going to hear over and over again during the election campaign that we are "becoming Europe" because of the debt. But, if that
were true, then we as a country, would be cutting deficit spending, and implementing austerity measures. watch out for that!>

To John Gravelle'S credit:
"Gravelle adds that there is an observed disconnect between profitability and stock prices."

Not just observed but Real in Spades. Noront profitability on the Nickel ore is prime example.
(Yes I keep on harping on the profitability. I think I have just cause.)
And Wes was more or less correct in saying that chromite is not profitable. Comparing to Noront's nickel ore that is. I take it that Wes was speaking relatively.

Dollar spent on chromite will get you a dollar in profit while same dollar on nickel ore will return 4 to 5 $.
That is a profound difference.
