From Noront's 2011 Overview presentation:

"Chromite mineralization at Blackbird remains open along strike and at depth with substantial promise for resource upgrades in the future. Blackbird remains a high priority target for Noront, where drilling resumed in May with two drills focused on expanding the chromite resource along strike and down dip. The company is targeting to double the identified resource, so the new estimates are considered in a Scoping Study scheduled for completion in the first half of 2012."

And as to N.A domination:

"Rapid urbanization worldwide requires more raw materials for infrastructure like public transit systems and buildings. China estimates that stainless steel production will double in five years and is therefore seeking a long-term and stable supply of chromite. Today, North America’s chromite supply is entirely imported. Noront’s Blackbird deposit could easily sustain the current North American demand, potentially generating significant revenue for the company."

Just think that only five years ago, chromite was absolutely absent in America. Now, all the World is looking in Northern Ontario!

And by the way, who believes that Cliffs will not be taken over in the following 3 years?
