"Yes I also agree, Noront could have halted trading and then make the announcement. That would gather more attention to themselves. Noront is obviously trying to be under the radar to not be bought out."
Halts are over exagerated in their affect. Everyone hopes there is a big zinger of a news report but in the end people read the report and go "yippy" or "yawn" and most any stock software flags the news reports regardless. There are dozens of halts every day and most of them are just common place and adhering to the rules. Information may be material but there are all kinds of material information most of which is not sexy. When NOT has the outstandingly sexy you'll see 20m shares traded. Everyone has their filters on and eyes peeled for the profit makers so it doesn't take a halt to get the attention. Computers made that possible. If NOT was truly trying to fly under the radar the language of the report would have played it down like those of the past. I think NOT is turning the corner....but that's just my interpretation.
