Jacki, most of us are " out of the loop " when it comes to really knowing what politicians say in their speeches. From your highlighted part of the sentence, it comes to $1 B per project. If we knew the projects, we might be able to figure out if the $1 B would do the job.

Most of us have been waiting quite a while for this ring of fire to materialize into something. It isn't difficult to understand how many of us have become impatient waiting for something to happen. We have not been getting too much information about development. Does this mean the pace of exploration has slowed? or, does it indicate just how much needs to be done yet to get to where the infastructure is needed tomorrow? We'd all like to know. It seems to me the Ring of Fire has a ways to go yet before we see concrete steps to get to the production stage.

I'm waiting like everyone else and hoping that sooner rather than later we get a "surprise" announcement that the infastructure will begin.
