Some folks just like to rant, when they should back up and consider the situation first.
I am more than half onside with Crasytrade, and to a lesser extent with some of the other posters here in ranting about native rights, but it has no place on here, and certainly doesn't apply to the present situation. I actually think Vermilion was the only one to get it right.
Marten Falls is the only community mentioned that has any direct (claim?) to the ROF area. The others would benefit to some extent with a north south road route, and on this basis he has managed to garner some support from them for that route, even from a couple of local mayors.
He (moonias) sees the writing on the wall. He knows the east west route would benefit the most locals, would be the most economical, and has the most support from Government depts. He is simply applying the squeeky wheel theory. Make lots of noise, in the hope you can drown out the others.
It won't work, as I believe the route decision is already in hand, but by making this noise he may succeed in forcing the powers that be to provide some consolation prize to Marten Falls in order to shut them up. He is doing what he is (paid?) to do. In the same situation, it is what you or I would do. On that basis, I have to applaud him for his efforts.
Does anyone notice the silence coming from the consortium of communities along the east west route? Does that silence not get a little louder with each passing day?
best regards
K
