I for one don't mind the odd reference to other Canadian companies on these boards, because I don't really like to wade through dozens of message boards, but I do occasionally like to hear about other companies that might be noteworthy. I'd far rather hear about them from someone who is a regular, logical poster on a board that I'm familiar with. That doesn't mean that I'll invest in that company, or even that I'll necessary spend much time looking at it. But once in a while, when I feel like flipping around and skimming some other boards, these pointers are useful.
It's too bad that Agoracom doesn't have some sort of feature where every regular poster for say 2+ years posting history, and a rating over 3.0, gets an option to have some sort of badge on their profile, and if the poster wants, they can highlight up to five companies that they think other regulars should know about.
Right now there are the lists of hubs where the poster is a mod or has favorites (based on posting activity), but it would be nice to have a real favorites list, and call the current favorites the "most followed" or something like that.
