Regarding Cliffs, they are the competition.....remember the battle for FWR?

This idea that we somehow need Cliffs is a big fallacy. The market for Chrome is only so big and if Cliffs gets the go ahead, Noront will be in a position to have to compete on price or leave the Chrome.

Cliffs business plan appears to involve processing some of the Chrome here in Canada, but then shipping some overseas as well. They will attempt to supply whatever market will take the Chrome from Canada....at the expense of all others in the ROF.

And there lies the problem....for the government...

If they provide something to help say Cliffs...it will be to the disadvantage of others in the ROF, including Noront. Currently KWG has much to lose, depending on certain rulings.

Cliffs certainly have many options, which would indicate their willingness to work with others in the area....such as mining the Big Daddy deposit, where KWG has a stake....and settle the rail vs road option once and for all. You have to ask yourself why they would reject the rail option, when it appears to be clearly the better of the two. Fact is, they don't want to share with nobody...not KWG....and not Noront.

On a good note however, remember what the Noront team said way back....during the battle for FWR....that Chrome alone would not be feasible....that the most feasible option is to be able to mine both the nickel and the chrome.....and Noront is positioning itself to do just that. They don't need Cliffs.

Unfortunately, some entity has made it their business to put Noront to such lows that financing such an option appears completely out of the question....for now anyways.

So...going forward...Noront needs a financier...without having to give up the whole company.

If Noront can get the backing...they can mine the nickel and PGE's with excellent credits and easily transition over to the Chrome. Noront alone has or will have enough Chrome to supply the current market for at least 20 years...so much is still unexplored.

In the end, Noront should want the same thing that Cliffs wants....all of it.
