Wes's departure was certainly driven by this deal.

The timing of this deal is interesting.

I think the potential answer to your question is NO.

Since a majority of the board is in favour of the proposal it likely means that Bao was a dissenting vote.

Is this deal a move to counter Bao's influence? Does this deal mean that the board are not going to cut a special deal for Bao?
