Huh? I disagree in turn.

It is not that Harper is respected ( Republicans south of the border excepted) but it is Canada that is respected ( for resources environment etc.) and some of our politicians ride on those coat tails while doing little themselves.
Am retired so I spend a lot of time in Europe and hardly anyone knows who our prime minister is but mention Canada or just a tee shirt with Canadian logo or image and I get an immediate recognition and positive reaction.
( I notice that even some citizens south of the border wear canadian designations in Europe with the hope of being taken for Canadians, no complaints from me on that but feel complimented.)
Just trying to show the other side of that coin.
