Message: Federal government’s negotiator for ring of fire hopeful deal can be struck

Those treaties were not signed with all the tribes but the few that helped in the war effort (Chief Brant as an example post 1812?), most were originally from the States.

Granted many treaties were similarly signed later with the remaining tribes, example from western regions. These were I believe to prevent local wars.

But is that the issue?

I believe that the land was not all theirs and they surrendered some of their rights in exchange for government support. Now they want to be treated as if they are the owners and we are the tenants.

I say that they can not have it both ways.
