It is to the benefit to both of above to buy at the lowest price because the differential from $0.50 is profit.

Very interesting idea – because I was also wondering about the following: even if people want the sp to be low in order to buy cheaply before the thing takes off, why be so outrageously greedy that the price has to go 70% below what Baosteel paid (and they're not supposed to be idiots) or 25% below what the new CEO paid (...neither is he). Come on, 0.86$ probably was fair, and if you see an opportunity with let's say 10% or even 20% discount from that, then you'd be happy to get in at such levels. But if the buyers are strawmen, it would make more sense, as you said. Well, but it's just a speculation to be sure.
