I'll tell you what I am speculating here:

Its Xstrata that is screwing with our SP.

...well, yes, since this pressure on the sp might be a sign of somebody preparing a takeover bid? one would think so, but would it be so easy to deal with Baosteel in such a case? the presence of Baosteel is why I thought a takeover is unlikely
