I was thinking about this today:
An East-West road is beneficial for the Ring of Fire. The company stated in a release Wednesday that the proposed East-West all-weather corridor would build upon existing winter roads to minimize environmental impact and cost. It could also be extended while benefiting four Matawa First Nations communities, the company said.
“We assumed in our feasibility study that we published that it would be a toll road,” Parisotto said. “That would suggest that the private sector and government would contribute towards building the road and users would have to pay a toll.”
It appears the North South route...is not going so well...and this east-west road is very feasible. Private sector and government money ..for a toll road...that is supported by First Nation. Hmm.
This may be a complete coincidence but..... wasn't the budgeted cost of east-west around 200 million or so? So let's say folks from Macquarie & Brookfield kicked in 50 million each and the gov't kicked in 100 million.
It's kind of coincidental that each of these groups just finished closing 50 million each.
