I can't find the electronic version to cut and paste, but the National Post reports today that the Parti Québécois government has revived the idea of a new 800 km railway cutting south from the Labrador mining trough to the port of Sept-Iles, saying it was looking at a model where the infrastructure would be publically owned but financed by mining company users, The government is funding a $20 million feasibility study. The development comes after Canadian National Railways suspended preliminary planning on its own private railway on the same route.

The government is looking to pattern the project on Sept Ils`s $220 Million dock expansion plan at Pointe-Noire which is being financed through a combination of public and mining companies`contributions.

Why can`t Ontario get their act together to do something similar to unlock the Ring. There seems to be no vision in Queen`s Park.
