Something up all right but not as soon as some may think and probably not as significant.
I have no priviledged info or insight but just look at the past. We had many instances of imminent significant action. Most recent is the announcement of the hydro line to Pickle Lake, and what happened to our sp soon after?
Well OK significant, but not anything that is not expected, i.e. not much of a surprise.
The E/W road is a sure thing so it's announcement should not be a blow out, only the timing when is what I wait for. Sure some who are not familiar with the Ring and Noront may consider announcment of the E/W road as a break through. I don't. It is too obvious that it will happen.
Roads are a provincial responsisibility. So they should and are likely to be the lead announcers of that.
As for the rail way, no surprise to me if Ontario does not make much mention of it. Ontario is unlikely to be making any initiatives with respect to it. They would be granting permits and maybe some tax incentives at the start. The railway awaits a cooperative venture from some public but mostly private interests, namely KWG. And I do not even write off Cliffs making a turn around and switch from road to rail, making a contribution to costs or a take over/buyout.
Other problem with Cliffs is that if they take over any more companies in the Ring, KWG in particular, they them selves could become a target for Bao or even more likely Xstrata/Glencore.
Vale where are you? Hiding in the closet?
