Ingrid, you can also you get a statement of all your transactions on your Discount Broker website or simply ask your Discount Broker for a statement of all your transactions. I also keep a separate spreadsheet of every transaction and work out the cost average for every transaction and then at tax time, matchup each transaction with the statement transaction.

In addition, my discount broker provides a daily or as per order, record of all transactions.

Yes, this is a lot of extra work but if you do it every time you make a transaction or daily?weekly, it is quite easy. My records are completely accurate.
