Message: Norilsk Nickel Seen Best-Placed as Ukraine Crisis Unfolds

Thanks RHammer,

I started to look at Norilsk as they are a dominant player and if sanctions were imposed, as a result of Ukranie, could it affect nickel prices?

I am inclined to think now that the EU and the west have too much at risk with Russian gas/oil etc., and actions that could affect commodity prices or their own economic self interests will be restrained. Nickel consuming countries may be reluctant to jeapordize sources, especially with the Indonesia decision seemingly holding strong for now.

We are likely to see international 'shaming' , recalling ambassadors and reduced diplomatic engagement with Russia, but little in the way of trade or economic sanctions.
