Premier Wynne was on CBC news, among other things she was blasting PM Harper about not matching her $1B for RoF. She said Ontario Gov must be tough with Harper.

Not sure if this is a good stance.

Bet that the PC will form the next government (it could even be a majority PC) and Tim Hudak will offer, at least, $1B for the RoF with the full support of PM Harper. Hence the chance to get money for the RoF is much better than Premier Wynne current offer with an ultimatum to the Fed (just like what she gave to Andrea Horwath). There was a chance the Horwath liked the budget substance, at least partly, but she did not seem to like the "tone" somebody was telling her "to vote yes, or else". Unless it's an extraordinary case, ultimatum should never be given. Unless Premier Wynne and her advisers just wanted an election to wipe the slate clean (too much baggage from the previous Lib governement to carry around, e.g. the gas plant cancellation, etc...)

The Feds would expect to see specific details on the proposal, so that they can have good reasons to fund well-defined projects rather than a blanket endorsement for some vague plan like " infrastructure for the RoF". The Feds said many times that they wanted to see roads, railroad, powerline proposal with cost estimates. It would be better to sit down and have a nice chat with the Feds (rather than pushing them into a corner), especially when you come asking for money.

Tim Hudak could even offer the money for the RoF during the election campaign with a detailed plan for Rickford's information who, on behalf of the Feds, would give some hints about the Feds would be more than willing to provide needed funds, during the Prov election campaign. Anything wrong with PCs helping PCs for the good of the people in Ontario and Canada?

Just my speculation folks.
