The news article published by the Wawatay in the link below was unfair to Tim Hudak and would mislead the readers in believing that Tim Hudak was just standing there on the podium providing no response what-so-ever. The news article should have just reported the fact that Tim Hudak could not attend the debate due to his other townhall meeting in southern Ontario, and leave his name out of the Q & A section.
The writers may offer their opinion about Hudak's absence, but by including "Hudak: No repsonse" for every question posed indicates, at least, sloppy reporting. Worse, it gives the appearance of spreading innuendo with an intention to damage the individual's reputation.
If Hudak's absence (regardless of the reasons) was judged, by the writers, as absolutely unforgiven, then come out and say it bluntly. Write an editorial piece if this is warranted. But, a misleading write-up like that would hurt the reputation of the writers and news service a lot more in the end.
