I think you are misplacing profit with amount of value.

NOT is the one with excellent profits on it's nickel ore, being about 5 times over costs while for chromite it is about 2. I suspect not much change for chromite even with KWG's gas powered process.

I do not have accurate figures, just 'rule of thumb' estimates.

Chromite is the one with the greater amount of value but not profitability. Mind you that value is to be realized over decades to not saturate the market. Duration is the plus with chromite.

Value is also what the media and politicians see.
