Message: This is a Noront Board...

ANL,

I was able to see the relevance of the Casablanca posts and the recent Glencore post and greatly appreciate seeing them on this board.

a while back we read:

"Casablanca wants Cliffs to spin off its international assets, including its Ring of Fire chromite claims, into a separate business unit and focus more on its low-risk, core U.S. assets. All this will shake out at Cliffs’ annual general meeting on July 29.

If Casablanca were to get its way and Cliffs decides to divest itself of its Ontario properties, Coutts said Noront is prepared to jump in with a formal proposal.
“We would be very interested in having that discussion.”

For reasons above....we want to be updated on Casablanca/Cliffs Saga.

What I find very very interesting today was the posts from Irish111 and Durban about Patrice Merrin.

You can be on the board of directors of MANY mining companies. The question is why does it appear to be a "confict" of interest for Patrice Merrin to potentially be on the Cliffs board and on the Glencore board. If it wasn't a confict of interest ...why withdraw the nominee position in the case of Casablanca.

hmm....conflict of interest?? What could it be?

Could it be ...that Glencore..would also be very interested in the Cliffs ROF claims..should they come up for sale? Would it be ok if Patrice was on both boards then??
