Yup, and you have my sympathy hence my answer:
I still hold every share from my original hold from before 2010. I call it Long hold.
Next, I still hold all the shares from my Mid hold less 500 shares. Those were aquired in the range of 50 to 150 cents.
Last I have what I play with now. All aquired below 50 cents apiece.
You did not get filled because you probably selected a price and placed all of your bid on that price. Unfortunately sp did not reach your expected.
I often select a range of prices.
Example:
If I want 10,000 shares now with present sp as I write at 48 cents:
I place 3 or more bids like 1000 at 47. 2000 at 45 and remaining 5000 at say 42?
The 5K is not likely to be filled but very good odds on the 1K.
The lower the sp goes the more and progressively larger amounts come to me.
I follow same strategy when selling.
In the above case if all got filled, I would set the Ask about 20 cents above bought price, and wait.
Above is my short term trading strategy.
Mid term sell price is same but at least a buck above bought.
I have not decided about the Long term hold but probably at least 5$s above bought prices.
Cheers, Ed.
