While the bands Mr Martin represents does not include the Matawa Bands his area includes the James Bay Lowlands.

I heard him interviewed on CBC Radio yesterday and he was asked if he thought there would be a mine in the ROF in the next year or two. His response "I don't know about 2 years perhaps 5 or 10. We have been impoverished for a long time so 10 more years means nothing." As a former Mayor of Sioux Lookout I am sure he understands the economic impact that the ring could provide to all of Ontario. His comment surprises me, perhaps playing politics?
