I believe that some iteration of this is going to play out. My take though, allows Goncalves to continue taking that cold shower until he agrees to a low ball sale to one or more of our very underfinanced Cdn explorers. You know, for example, the same two that were in the hunt for FreeWest back then. Ontario does not need to give Clfs 0.5 billion. Let the market take care of the price. Goncalves will continue to pile mud on past mgmt until internal perception of value matches the low ball price offered. He then books the write down before fiscal year end, makes the deal after year end, washes his hands and moves on.

As for the half billion? Sure give as much as needed to the FN to buy into any associated PPs and/or into the miners themselves taking a significant ownership position forward. The rest of the funds go to the dev. corp as said and we are all very happy. Except for Cliffs who are not let off the hook by the province, because if you lsiten to Goncalves, it will be 50 years minimum before mining in the ROF and half billion is way way too much to pay today for 50 years out. All in my opinion of course.
