Michael Gravelle represents the Government of the Province of Ontario in his role as Minister of Northern Development and Mines. Ontario is Canada’s top jurisdiction for the exploration and production of minerals. In 2013, the value of Ontario’s mineral production reached almost $10billion.

In his seven years in Cabinet, Minister Gravelle has also been responsible for the Natural Resources and Forestry portfolios. He was first elected to the Ontario legislature in 1995 and is currently serving his sixth consecutive term as a Member of Provincial Parliament.
