Message: Re: possible solution for transport of chromite/nickel

Queston: Is there any likehood of contamination, similiar to an oil pipeline, should either one of these pipes burst open GM? Because TransCanada has recently experienced a leak with one of their oil pipelines which did not look very good on them. Would we be attaching the same oil pipeline stigma to ourselves if we go this route, or is the viscosity of the payloads (Nickel / Chromite or other) more particulate in nature and more environmental acceptable to be transported by pipe in relation to oil. Not knowing much myself about metal slurry pipelines I was wondering if you could answer this question using what you have researched so far. The solution does have a lot of merits, I am merely playing Devil's advocate here.
