Looks to me that if it is a spring election then it would have to be held in late spring, but I suspect summer is now more likely. I do not think election would be called during or before budget time.

Monkey wrench in the works if budget is defeated. That could cause an election. Perhaps that is exactly what is being planned, who knows?

Budgets and elections are often linked together, using the budget to be elected or to put opposition in defensive mode.
