I recently re-read the link below from a Stan Studol article back in 2013....and the wheels started turning in my head with recent stuff I've read
http://www.thesudburystar.com/2013/08/31/accent-ring-of-fire---from-ore-to-steel
He made a lot of good points in the link above(good to read the link slowly) and I wondered if a group out there would take the bull by the horns and make this vision happen.
We've got lots of Chromite.
Bloom Lake has lots of iron ore....
Cliffs just announced all these juicy things for sale.

Wynne and Couilliard seem close...and have been chatting up hydro amongst other things.
Wynne was travelling to China....
Then Harper went to China...
Noront has RCF, Baosteel, and now Franco Nevada...
I kept thinking about some of the points in Stan's article...
"Premier Wynne needs to form a “stainless steel working group” whose mandate is to ensure that the global stainless steel giants establish one or more manufacturing plants in Thunder Bay to take advantage of one of the richest deposits of chromite ore on the planet.
"CP also has a 115-kilometre rail line — part of their main east-west route — that runs close to the abandoned CN line from Thunder Bay to Red Rock, almost 40% of the distance to Longlac.
Global stainless steel demand is forecast to rise by one-third over the next half decade, outpacing most other metals, according to a recent report by Macquarie commodities research."
Baosteel is a giant in the Stainless steel world ....what if they had a facility in Northern Ontario? Link below shows you the biggies in stainless refer to pg 13.

With a new industry like this ...we'd be looking at a lot of money for infrastructure. All sorts of infrastructure..
Remember back in 2010..
McGuinty went to China to talk about Chromite....link below:
http://news.ontario.ca/opo/en/2010/11/investment-chromite-top-agenda-for-premier-in-hong-kong.html
The title was:
Well China investment corp opened up their first North Amercian headquarters on Bay St....weeks later
I've been wondering about Li Ka Shing every since.....when is he going to surface in all of this....
What if the plan now is a whole stainless industry...
Recently these headlines caught my eye...regarding John Baird who recently left politics to to the the private sector.
Baird had been member of the federal cabinet, in various positions, since 2006. He previously was a provincial cabinet minister in Ontario during the governments of PremiersMike Harris and Ernie Eves
Baird has held the posts like Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, Minister of the Environment and President of the Treasury Board
John Baird recently left politics and in March the following three tidbits were announced. I think of Stan's article when I see these new positions.
Notice CP Rail and notice Mr Li (son of Li Ka Shing)..
