We need a court case that proves that Aboriginal Title never existed, as in the notion of land ownership simply did not exist with "traditional culture." Yes, hunting grounds were negotiated amongst tribes, sometimes with conflict. But that again, is use of the land for hunting, trapping and fishing. Nomadic Title? Barely any mention of any "Traditional Settlements" is found and usually this designation/interpretation would have been used for delineating reserves anyway.
These Aboriginal Uprisings are all huge patties of BS.
The amount of "sharing" & "advancement" that has come since the first French and British colonies is payment enough.
One can only imagine the alternative scenarios if historic reality was as bad as is now being claimed. You don't fight the war of 1812 together if Canada is such a bad idea. You also don't try to co-exist if either party is being an a-hole.
At some point, there could have been a far bloodier history amongst "Aboriginals and Settlers" here in what we now call all of Canada. There wasn't.
Yet ... past agreements never seem to be enough. Hence the introduction of "living documents." What a joke. "We don't like the terms anymore, let's renegotiate and keep that open for eternity."
Canada now needs to take a stand. We want everyone to have a fair shot, to have an equal helping hand where needed and prosper together. No blood, or threats for that matter, needs to be shed. However, in order to avoid conflict of this magnetude - one must acknowledge that the modern world is the creation of all sorts of nations across the world. Civil war will not help Canada. This is the rhetoric that the "FNs" allude to.
Canada needs to assert its "newly" multicultural, diverse and "equal-opportunity" mandate as a country. Otherwise, the Supreme Court of Canada may just dissolve itself by the very nature of extinguishing the country, and its laws, it stands to uphold.
