I haven't posted for a long while but learning about the passing of a friend has drawn me to say some kind words about a man whom I called a friend.
I have sent this message to Noront as well.
To Paul’s family and everyone at Noront……………
My sincerest condolences to all at the passing of a great man and one whom I considered a friend. I am saddened to hear that he passed away and could not live out his dream of seeing Noront build the mines in the Ring of Fire.
Paul attended many of the Ring of Fire Golf Classics that I organized and was always happy to contribute in any way he could, including contributing prizes out of his own pocket, being accommodating to anyone I put in his foursome and attending all the ROF Classic dinners, including last year’s which was held at Royal Woodbine GC.
I had the extreme pleasure of riding with Paul on my team the year before, down in Niagara Falls at John Daly’s Thundering Waters GC. And I learned a great deal about Paul and his terrific sense of humor and his great success in the US at Collegiate Golf, where he made his University Golf team. Paul was an excellent golfer during those days and his talent showed every year at the annual Ring of Fire Golf Classics.
Last year, I placed him with three of my close friends and they had a blast all day long. As they were in the group behind us, I saw him several times and spoke with him and he was laughing all day long.
A terrific man and kind as they come. I will miss him greatly, as will everyone at our annual event. I will be sure to have a tribute to him when we hold our 7th ROF Classic this September.
Paul touched a lot of people with his kindness, intelligence and his terrific sense of humor. I remember him telling me how much he loved watching Duck Dynasty on TV, along with other off the wall comedy.
And lastly, to Paul’s family and to everyone at Noront, from all of us at the Ring of Fire Golf Classic and as shareholders of Noront…. our deepest sympathies to you and we are sad to lose a dear friend.
Respectfully,
Ken Adderson,
