The only positive thing that I credit in the federal budget is the extention of the mineral exploration tax credit for additional year.
All the rest is as the French queen of old said, 'Let them eat cake'. In other words, essentially Feds are absent when most needed.
Feds are the ones responsible for the natives, not Ontario.
A poster reiterated Fed's asking for a plan from Ontario and I say why the plan?
It is merely an excuse to further do nothing. Without a monetary commitment the Feds are not entitled to a sitting member of the board of directors in DevCo and with out that member no members from companies nor from the natives will be appointed.
That plan should be produced by a functioning Devco. That means full board with advisory and expert members. But without it being formed for all practical purposes there will not be anything produced.
Hence no plan. and no plan means no entry in the budgets of both governments.
Yeah, 'We need to see the details' is the Fed's answer.
Oh really? So Ontario has seen them?
Details are after the plan is produced, but before that is needed a general commitment that you truly believe in the future of the Ring. Both governments have to commit by action before any real movement can be achieved.
What I say means squat but we had an article posted on this forum yesterday at 5pm from National News written by Jorge Barrera pointing out absence of Feds. But even if you have a plan and submit it, many provinces say that it is almost impossible to get funding.
Throwing crumbs at the Ring and the natives is just playing politics.
As is I suspect that our sp will resume the price decline that started at end of March due to lack of support in this budget.
