Message: 17 amendments.

I posted the link to the amendments a few days ago for those that want to read them.

My concern is whether there will be another delay, Coutts himself recently said the timelines had the original Terms of Reference in mind.

Reading through the amendments again, I find myself wondering if all the extra consultation and "alternative studies" can be completed in time for winter work.

I think if open houses and forums were done simultaneously in each FN community by hiring consultatiion teams or something of the sort, that would be a way. Along side the EA team to finish off the extra studies.

This would need to be 3 months of intense work just to reach the end of September with a submission. There's a request to have a Draft EA before the Final submission ... I'm not sure why that would be the case - seems redundant.

This government is a joke. Noront's done all this work and now they still need another draft? Give me a break. And the FNs are showing how slow a process it is to work with them.

I previously mentioned that there's a good chance that these extra data could have already been gathered but a community by community approach for all 9 of them seems quite onerous and time consuming, especially since the other FNs do not claim the territory as theirs but now it's all about Matawa together but still 9 individual communites in the end for anyone that wants to do any work.

I think we are looking at exploration not mine construction start for any hope this year. Why is exploration an option now whereas it was always too expensive and not worth while previously? We have even more under our belt since the new purchase. How much more do we need????

Disappointing.

Anyone talk to Noront lately?
