How you, or any one else for that matter, could have known what was to come. Not only with Noront and Ring but the influence of world economics on both.
I suspect many who bought above 4 dollars are still here, just they may not still hold all the original shares. Some on the other hand may have seriously averaged down and could be now holding many times more shares.
One group compensates for the other.
As you imply, being a fund does not mean guaranteed success.

However it helps not going into nostalgia, it could cause depression and drive away more shareholders.
