Speaking from personal experience as a Manitoba hydro employee. Wind and solar power, although great as a supplemental source, cannot be relied upon for consistent power. Manitoba has attempted to use both only to find the cost of setting up windmills and then keeping them maintained and operational is just not profitable. Solar I have less experience with but solar panels are large and need a large area to set them up. hydro electric is the way to go for reliable, consistent power. Would love a little job security and have Ontario purchase it from Manitoba.
