I had that problem quite often ( now trading almost 30 years ) but did have one broker who had an option to place an order All Or None. Needless to say, I stoped with them because of higher commission costs.

My present answer is buying at Asked price or sellint into the Bids price during open market, costs a half or whole penny more but that is how I avoid the problem now.
