My guess is that IF the feds announce any funding for the Ring of Fire, it would be next Wednesday or Thursday. The conservatives need to show that they appear to be good for the economy. Spearheading a multi-billion dollar development that will have benefits for Ontario and for First Nations and for all of Canada (federal tax revenues) would be a big punch. Announcing on the Wednesday or Thursday before the following Monday's election would maximize the timing of the publicity: not too late that people don't talk about it over the late week and weekend, but not too soon that people forget.

Or maybe the election will come and go, and we'll sit here for another four years.
