Lefebvre went on record pre-election with promises for the ROF....

17. What would your party do to develop the Ring of Fire mining area?

A Liberal federal government would play a key role in helping Ontario develop the Ring of Fire by working closely with the private sector and local, provincial and First Nations officials, up to and including providing matching funds or loan guarantees for necessary infrastructure.

Liberal leader Justin Trudeau is on record saying the principals need to sit down together and try to figure out the way to ensure the Ring of Fire is of benefit economically but also for communities, for First Nations, and for the long-term sustainability of Northern Ontario's environment.

Now the Sudbury chamber of commerce is rightly exerting pressure on him...

Get infrastructure dollars out the door.
The new federal government has committed to
increasing the federal government’s infrastructure investment to nearly $125 billion over the next decade. These funds are badly needed to ease productivity-zapping congestion in the Greater
Toronto and Hamilton Area, as well as for strategic transportation infrastructure that will spur development of the Ring of Fire, the generational mining opportunity in Ontario’s far north.
