Not everybody in the Matawa has been equally enthusiastic about the so-called “opening up” of the area governed by Treaty 9, signed in 1905-06 with the Crown. This is my experiance...Also in the past the thought of a road meant that outsiders would come and tramp the land and take the animals that was the food of the First Nations
