The Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC) requires a Civil Engineering Specialist for the Thunder Bay Service Centre. The mandate of the Corporation is to provide technical and enhanced advisory services to the Unaffiliated First Nations in Ontario. The primary role of the Civil Engineering Specialist will be to provide technical advisory services in all areas of civil\municipal engineering, public works management, O & M, Minor Capital, Major Capital, training, and related government programs. The Civil Engineering Specialist will report to the Technical Manager.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

  • Assists and advises First Nation public works and technical personnel on all municipal infrastructure projects including planning, design, tendering, construction, contract administration, funding as well as operation and maintenance activities.
  • Assists other OFNTSC departments or carries out technical\field work on First Nation infrastructure projects.
  • Read, interpret and comment on technical reports, engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Assist and advise on government program funding and reporting.
