Auminer this is not how I remember it:
"KWG wanted a railroad and Cliffs a road."

Cliffs also wanted a railway, because it is most efficient transportation and initially with KWG, but when they parted company the route was no longer available to Cliffs for a railraod and so they tried by default the only alternative left which was a road.

With time history gets rewritten.
