In case you did not notice the Chinese have had their foot in the door of the Ring for a few years now, namely Baoshan.

As for the KWG railway it is only a feasibility study to find out what is possible and it's implications, something Noront did a few years ago for their nickel ore mine and road.

Until governments and natives are on board it means little for both companies in this economic down turn.
